If you are precise, organised and would love being the rock of an amazing team — then ... it's you!

The Position

We are looking for a can-do person who has an interest in web-development. Someone who loves to do varied and challenging work in a ground-breaking industry.

The position is for a minimum of five hours a week. However, by mutual agreement, up to 20 hours a week may be on offer during some weeks of the year.

You are in charge of basic office administration with a focus on time-keeping records and invoices. It is a detailed and precise area of work: you will need to be good with numbers, spreadsheets, and well organised.

Ideally, you would work at least two times a week, and at least once a week from our office.

The Person

We are looking for a person who has most of these attributes:

  • precise and organised, keen on doing things properly,
  • reliable,
  • excellent verbal and written communication,
  • interest in elegant or artsy,
  • thoughtful and mature outlook,
  • self-starting,
  • open-minded and innovative,
  • interested in web-development processes, and
  • someone who is doing a university degree with B+ marks or higher (or similar).

We would love you to stick around for at least a few years, so please do not apply if you are about to move to Tāmaki Makaurau or elsewhere more "exotic".

The Offer

Your hourly rate will be between minimum wage and thirty dollars an hour. It will be based on the skills you bring to the job. We also offer

  • a dynamic environment,
  • you will be using your brain,
  • plenty of responsibility and room for growth,
  • project management experience galore,
  • we are actually interested in your ideas and creative solutions, and
  • flexible hours.

A Typical Day

Everytime you work, you will attend to the following tasks:

  • Collate any activity since your last work day: what work was done, hours per person, per project, outcomes.
  • Update our project management software.
  • Review status of all "active" projects and highlight any areas that need attention.
  • Update clients on project hours.
  • Report to team and discuss action plans.
  • Administer basic payroll data.
  • Create invoicing.

Other work you may be asked to do includes (but is not limited to):

  • a wide range of data-entry work,
  • online research,
  • spreadsheets,
  • finding solutions to new issues,
  • sorting out small office things like furniture, internet, etc.
  • installing software,
  • managing our calendar,
  • testing websites,
  • writing to prospects,
  • collating quotes,
  • proofreading,
  • supporting other people in the team (a big one!),
  • and so on.

Where and when?

Hours are flexible as long as you can do at least a few hours each week. Work should mostly be carried out during office hours and mostly from our office in Kelburn.

How do I apply?

If you like the sound of the above then please apply today by sending your CV and a cover letter to jobs@sunnysideup.co.nz. If you really want to stand-out then you can also call us and ask some questions: 0221697577.
